A busy season is being enjoyed by all!
The winter season has been an especially busy time for our residents and convalescent patients here at Chilton House. The shorter days have been filled with a range of entertainment from a visit from Birds Of Prey in Wheatley to musicians, singers and pantomimes.
Before the days became too short, we had a visit from the Birds of Prey in Wheatley who brought with them some beautiful American Hawks and Kestrals. We watched them fly outside on a late Autumn day.
November began with our Remembrance Day Service at 11 am which was greatly received by all. The poppy mural on the wall was made by our residents and we proudly displayed it at the service.
December began the start of the Christmas season which meant lots of singing and dancing for all to enjoy. ‘Something Else’ a music duo came by to sing and play hits of the 50’s and 60’s which everyone joined in and really enjoyed.
I haven’t danced so much in years! – Chilton House Resident – AL
This event was followed by the Ashfold Children’s Choir who sang some new carols and some older favourites. We all sang along and enjoyed the mince pies and mulled wine.
Christmas could not have been complete without our residents’ Christmas party where the family members enjoyed chmpagne and canapes along with the lovely crooning of Emily Matthews and Ian Souch, the amazing close up musician.
All in all, the season has been a busy and extremely varied for our residents and staff and as we progress through these winter months, there will be much more in the calendar for us at Chilton House as we edge towards springtime.
